  2. 1ST DRAFT
When I was a child in my family were great cooks. They would cook lots of food because when they were growing up as children there was eleven mouths to feed. I was the first maternal grandchild so I was given 98% of what I wanted. When I was young I was brought to New York to live with my mother and stepdad. My step dad would bring me ice cream every night and my mom would tell me to have a sandwich because we’d had an early dinner. It made my mom happy to know that I was eating because I was a bit narrow in body type. I made many friends that took the place of the food and I started throwing away our food it made my mom happy to feel like I ate it.
As we moved around I was void of friends for awhile I took back my old substitutes which were food and pets. In the super market the thing that everyone would do was open the packages on the shelves and take some food out to eat it as they shopped. The store knew that people did this and they would turn a blind eye to it. The store finally started setting up free sample tables throughout the store.
As I got older I was known at family gatherings as the person that would eat all and everything. I became the butt of the food jokes told at these gatherings. Hearing the first joke of the evening I would laugh but the jokes that followed were a bit insulting to me. At 19 I got married and after 2 weeks was pregnant, after several years we divorced . Many years passed and my daughter got married and became pregnant. My daughter was saddened by her weight gain so I decided to gain weight with her. After my grandchild was born and by then I was use to eating again. Years of being divorced I then met this man that I started dating, he would just feed me with everything that I liked. We would go to Atlantic City to see my favorite stars and events and stay in the best suites plus eat in the best casino restaurants. When we would eat in the suite he would physically feed me my food. At his place he would cook for me and feed me, I didn’t realize until later that he was slipping date rape pills in my beverages. He would shower me with jewelry and surprise limousine trips after school. After a year I decided that this was not a happy relationship for me, I truly felt smothered. He even wanted to go in the bathroom with me and pass me the tissue. He tried to alienate anyone that was close to me. So I ended the relationship after trying to for another year. He became obsessed and I had to get much legal help to avoid his attempted murder and harassment. He was finally sent back to his country.
. Many negative things happened in my life, I lost my job, my mother died, my cat died, I suffered from constant fear of having another possible close male companion and I became depressed and ate even more than ever. I asked God to help me and one day while sitting at the computer , he did. As God communicated to my mind the question “What do you think your problem is with the weight”? I told him that I told my close family and friends that I thought that I had a food addiction and then they would laugh at me and say that I was just greedy. Then God communicated “Type food addict into the computer search engine”. So I did and the abstinent group came up. I was lead to a certain spot and I started to attend the meetings. I was so very happy and I thank God every chance I get. I followed the steps and my sponsor’s directions that started in March of 2011. It is now 2013, when I started eating healthier foods I weighed 365 pounds and I now weigh approximately 295 pounds praise be to God… It really does work if you make the calls, remain almost abstinent, weigh your foods every day, follow the steps, use some of the tools and by all means follow your sponsors advice and ask lots of questions. These days I am now happy and free.
