Floral Bedrooms

Bedrooms should be a haven of comfort but that doesn't mean the décor has to lack excitement or style. Draping floral bed linens offers a way to achieve the luxurious look of a canopy without having to purchase a four-poster bed. It's also a terrific way to showcase artwork or create a faux window effect with a trompe l'oeil poster.

You need: Contrasting fabrics (we chose Waverly, Champagne Bourbon Street).

How to: Hang two brackets above bed to hold curtain rod at appropriate height. Hem top edge of flat sheets to create a casing; slip rod through; place on brackets. Gather at sides with complementary ribbon. Place framed artwork in the center or, for a whimsical accent, use a flea market window, a pair shutters or a trompe l'oeil poster.
