Anoka is less than 30 minutes from Minneapolis and St. Paul, but it's also a small town with a strong historic vibe. Nearby Main Street has unique clothing boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants. There's a unified aesthetic, with many of the buildings maintaining their original architecture.
