1/4 cup canola oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 large green pepper, diced
1 red pepper, diced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
1 pound ground pork
1 pound ground beef
1 jar Guy Fieri Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce*
24 slider buns
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
Add canola oil, onions and peppers to a heated, heavy-bottomed sauté pan. Cook until onions are translucent. Add ground pork and beef, breaking up in pan with wooden spoon. Sauté until meat is just cooked. Drain excess oil. Add Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce. Stir well. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes. To assemble sliders, spoon meat onto buns, then add a generous sprinkle of cheese. (Filling can be made ahead, then kept warm in a slow cooker until needed.)
Alternative: No Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce? Doctor up any brand you like with a dash of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of dark molasses, and a pinch of light-brown sugar.
