You always need to apply sunscreen to exposed skin. But for the rest of your body, Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) clothing can provide even better coverage since there's no chance you'll miss a spot. All of these items have a UPF rating of at least 30, which means only one-thirtieth of the sun's rays reach the skin through the fabric. In comparison, a typical cotton T-shirt has a UPF of 5.
