With a small serrated knife, trim the domed top from each cake and save for snacking.
Spread a little frosting on trimmed side of one cake. Stack a second cake, cut-side down, to form a mini pumpkin.
Spread 3 tablespoons of frosting on the cake. Use a spatula to create ridges.
Brush the cake with heated corn syrup, then roll it in colored sugar to cover. Add a pretzel or candy as the stem.
Microwave 1/4 cup of frosting for 5 to 7 seconds. Spoon a little over the cake, letting it drip down the side. Add sprinkles.
