Christine Burda, 42, Date Night Chic
"Over the past few years, I had lost all confidence in myself. Now, with this new look, I feel it's the year for me to make a big change."
About Christine: A single mother of two about to embark on a new career, Christine is stuck in a style rut. She likes her everyday clothing, but wants to kick things up a notch for date nights.
Style Solution: Emerald is the color of the year, and Christine rocks it! The shade flatters her skin tone, and the cut of this bright sheath complements her curves. Add ankle-strap pumps and she's set for an evening out.
Clothing: Dress, Muse Apparel, $136. Shoes, Chinese Laundry, $70. Cuff, Towne & Reese, $35.
Her Beauty Boost: Christine was ready for a dramatic new look. Tricomi shaped her fine locks into a classic bob, which gives her hair fullness. To add movement, he left it slightly longer in the front. Subtle honey highlights soften Christine's dark hue, and peach-colored blush accentuates her chiseled cheeks.
Stephanie Nevin, 39, Casual Yet Sophisticated
"I love our life, all our children and my work, but I have little time for me. Just throwing on comfortable clothes and some moisturizer is all I do lately. I'm ready for something new and different, just as long as it's easy."
About Stephanie: This blogger and mom of five (ages 3 to 20) is on the go 24/7. She usually throws on jeans, a tee and a cardigan, and puts her hair in a ponytail. Stephanie describes her ideal look as casual enough for a school pick-up yet polished enough for an impromptu work meeting.
Style Solution: A blazer is a go-to topper — it makes anything, even jeans and a tee, look pulled together. This structured knit jacket in an eye-catching hue slips on just as comfortably as Stephanie's cardigan, but appears much more refined. We swapped her basic blue jeans for a skinny white pair, highlighting her great shape.
Clothing: Jacket, Mossimo for Target, $30. Shirt, Ann Taylor, $48. Pants, Old Navy, $34.50. Shoes, Ann Taylor, $68. Earrings, Blu Bijoux, $36. Cuff, Kanupriya, $75. Bag, Jessica Simpson Collection, $98.
Her Beauty Boost: Tricomi decided that Stephanie's hair needed just a trim, which gave her versatility as well as the option to pull it back. Warren brightened her color with warm, golden-blond highlights. For a finished (but not overdone) face, Franson applied lightweight foundation, followed by black eyeliner on her top lids and a vibrant lipcolor.
Laura Ciavolino, 42, Polished Edge
"I was in desperate need of a makeover! I was always in a sweatshirt and jeans and didn't even know what size I was. Now I can't believe I feel and look so good in a dress!"
About Laura: Somewhere between raising 8-year-old triplets and working as a nurse practitioner, Laura stopped thinking about her appearance. Still, she's tired of her lackluster basics and wants a new style that reflects her sassy personality.
Style Solution: Laura has killer legs and wanted an edgier look, so we begged her to try on a dress, something she never wears. A wrap style did the trick: It's quick to throw on and is super stylish. The geometric pattern conceals trouble spots while the cinched waist creates an hourglass silhouette.
Clothing: Dress, Ann Taylor, $128. Heels, Franco Sarto, $89. Necklace, Emma Mckinstry, $47.50. Clutch, Olivia + Joy, $78. Bracelet, Coldwater Creek, $40.
Her Beauty Boost: Laura has a hectic schedule and needed an easy-to-maintain hairstyle. Warren warmed her brunette mane and wove chestnut streaks throughout. The color and modern, layered haircut don't require major upkeep or frequent salon visits. Franson also opted to keep the makeup simple. He used a color correction cream to even out her skin tone and conceal dark spots, and a neutral palette of eyeshadows.
