How to Make a Fishtail Braid
Our stylist shows you how to create this hot summer hairstyle.
Hi. I'm Jeanie Syfu and I'm here in Playa del Carmen. Well, I'm here to show you how to do a fishtail braid. So, what you're gonna wanna do to do a fishtail is take the hair and divide it into two sections from the crown down to the nape. Almost like you're doing two pigtails, all right? Take a section from the outside of each section and go inwards. You're basically weaving it. So, this is your first, go in. Other section, inwards. And it's really good to kind of not over think this braid because it-- what's gonna make it look modern is that it's a little textured, it shouldn't be so perfect. If you do want something more controlled, just use a little pomade. The smaller your sections that you're grabbing from the outside, the more intricate your braids gonna look. The bigger your sections, not so fancy. So you can kind of see the pattern that we're creating here. So, you just continue this all the way down. The last thing I like to do is just kind of pull it apart, and so it just looks a little more dishabled.
