Formal Event Makeup: Smokey Eye
A formal event is a great time to try a dramatic smokey eye. Learn how in this easy makeup tutorial.
[MUSIC] Promise an excellent time to try out that smokey eye you've always wanted to try. So we're gonna do a traditional smokey eye, and then pair it with a nice nude lip so we keep the focus on the eyes. I'm going to start with our mat warm brown to serve as our transition color placed in the crease. Now we're going to place a shimmery ivory on the lid, because the look is dark we do want to make sure we do have the lightness as well. I'm going to grab a color called slate. And I'm going to place it concentrating on the outer corner and then use a blending brush to blend it in and kind of smoke it out. I'm going to first line the eye with a black pencil liner, and then I'm gonna use a brush to smudge it out and keep the line really soft. For the bottom lash line, we wanna keep the line soft, so I'm actually just going to touch that brush directly to the liner and smudge it on with the brush. We're going to apply a black mascara to both the top and bottom lashes. For the cheeks, we're gonna use a shimmery rose blush and the little added shimmer is going to give her a rosy glow. So that the smoky eyes don't compete with the lips, we're just gonna use a nude pink color and apply it without a lipliner, just straight from the tube. Because we want your look to last all night long, we're going to set the whole thing with a setting spray. [MUSIC]
