Club Med offers fun-filled, relaxing vacations in gorgeous tropical locations that the whole family is sure to love. Club Med's Punta Cana, Ixtapa and Sandpiper villages even have children's clubs so both adults and children can make the most out of their vacation. Each village offers specialty programs, sporting and creative activities, and nightly entertainment. They also have buffet meals that provide foods certain to satisfy even the choosiest child's taste buds.

Children's Clubs

Children at Punta Cana, Ixtapa and Sandpiper can learn funky dance moves by taking Hip Hop Kidz dance classes, explore international music and culture at Putumayo World Playground Adventure and discover science through educational activities in the mini scientists program. Older children can also learn to juggle, walk a tightrope and swing from the trapeze at circus school, while younger children can keep active in the mini gym and interact with Clubber and Medy, two characters who entertain little ones throughout their stay. At Ixtapa and Sandpiper, children ages 4 months to 17 years old can participate in fun, supervised activities each day and at Punta Cana, children ages 2 to 17 years old can join in the action.

Each village has free play sports for children to participate in, including soccer, bocce ball, softball, volleyball, water polo and more. Adults and older children can also take lessons in sports ranging from archery and in-line skating to water aerobics, tennis and sailing. While the kids are enjoying dance classes, the mini gym and other activities, mom and dad can enjoy massages, fitness activities, and arts and crafts workshops.

At night, parents can watch their children perform circus routines and families can see comedy skits and talent shows organized by Club Med employees (also known as gracious organizers or G.O.s). They can also watch bands or other performers put on live shows once a week. If an evening away from the kids is what mom and dad need, they can drop the children off at the Siesta Club where G.O.s will care for them while mom and dad spend the night watching live entertainment, dancing at the bar or just relaxing.

In addition to the activities and services mentioned above, Club Med Punta Cana, Ixtapa and Sandpiper, each offer their own unique atmosphere and special programs.

Ixtapa, Mexico

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Club Med Ixtapa is surrounded by exotic palm trees and gorgeous flowers. It is located north of Acapulco. This recently renovated paradise boasts 374 rooms, a restaurant, beach bar, an in-line skating rink and three swimming pools.

Ixtapa offers several activities geared toward families. Club Med also organizes sightseeing excursions for families to take an eco-tour of Las Gatas, swim with dolphins or go snorkeling. Adults can also take a sunset cruise to nearby points-of-interest and enjoy offsite activities such as golfing, shopping and horseback riding.

Punta Cana, Domincan Republic

This moderately active village is located on the island of Hispañola on the Caribbean Sea. It features an expansive white sand beach, lush tropical gardens and ATP/Club Med tennis camps. Recently renovated, the village has 519 rooms, two restaurants (one for adults only; one for families), two swimming pools and an open-air nightclub. Punta Cana offers windsurfing and Latin dance lessons. Vacationers can also enjoy seeing local crafts, eating native foods and listening to Salsa music.

Punta Cana caters more toward families with children ages 5 and up. Families can go on offsite excursions to local towns and to the country's capital, Santo Domingo. While in those towns, families can immerse themselves in the culture by doing educational activities and seeing historical sights. Other offsite activities adults can enjoy include horseback riding, scuba diving, golfing, deep-sea fishing and cruising on a catamaran. Onsite at Punta Cana, adults can participate in an ATP/Club Med Tennis Camp where intermediate and advanced level players can learn more about the game.

Sandpiper, Florida

Only a two-hour drive from Miami or Orlando and 45 minutes from West Palm Beach, Sandpiper is the perfect Club Med village for golfers and tennis lovers alike. This moderately active village is set on the St. Lucie River, where guests can choose a room with either a riverfront or garden view. It has 337 rooms, including new Marina Family Suites that boast incredible views and spacious comfort. Sandpiper also has four swimming pools, including one for adults and one for children's clubs, and two riverfront restaurants.

This resort geared toward families has plenty of onsite activities for kids, including water skiing, wakeboarding and an in-line skating park. In addition, Club Med organizes offsite adventures to Kennedy Space Center, Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure.

At Club Med Sandpiper, golfers can enjoy a newly renovated 18-hole golf course and can attend golf clinics throughout their stay. Sandpiper is the only Club Med resort that has a golf course onsite. And, if one golf course just isn't enough, golf enthusiasts can also explore five other golf courses near the village. Additionally, intermediate and advanced level tennis players can participate in an ATP/Club Med Tennis Camp to fine tune their skills.
