Sure, pumpkin spice lattes are all the rage right now, but how about a good-for-you alternative? Green smoothies—packed with vitamins, fiber and flu-fighting powers—can be a boon to your health.
Just ask Jen Hansard and Jadah Sellner, founders of SimpleGreenSmoothies.com. “The thing we’re most proud of is that our kids have weathered the preschool and early elementary school viruses insanely well [thanks to our green smoothies],” said Jadah. With their new book, Simple Green Smoothies: 100+ Tasty Recipes to Lose Weight, Gain Energy and Feel Great in Your Body, coming out on November 3, the two moms can’t say enough about the benefits of living what they call the “rawkstar” lifestyle.
After the duo introduced their refreshing Beginner’s Luck recipe to the Family Circle staff, I decided to give the smoothie revolution a whirl. Although their quarterly 30-day challenge starts today, my sights are set on completing their 10-Day Kickstart Challenge for beginners. Clear skin, weight loss and avoiding seasonal colds are three benefits I hope to gain through this experience. Stay tuned for my “rawkstar” transformation.
