• Heat oven to 375°. Lightly coat baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.

  • In a large bowl, stir flour, baking soda and salt.

  • In a medium bowl, beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and creamy, 3 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla until blended.

  • Stir in flour mixture until blended. Stir in chocolate pieces and walnuts. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.

  • Bake at 375° for 12 minutes or until golden. Cool baking sheets on wire racks for 5 minutes. Transfer cookies to racks to cool completely.
