  1. 1 of 4 Heat oil in a large lidded saucepan over medium heat.
  2. 2 of 4 Add onion, green pepper and celery and cook 5 minutes. Stir in creole seasoning and cook 1 minute.
  3. 3 of 4 Add tomatoes, barley, broth and 1 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes.
  4. 4 of 4 Uncover saucepan and stir in sausage and shrimp. Increase heat to medium-high. Cover and cook 5 minutes, until shrimp is opaque. Serve warm.
