Enjoy this recipe as is (all you need is a blender or food processor), or use it as a base for beet or carrot hummus.

  1. 1 of 2 In food processor or blender, combine first 5 ingredients. Blend, scraping as needed, until well combined. With machine running, pour in oil and 1 tbsp water, and blend until smooth.
  2. 2 of 2 Transfer to a bowl; drizzle with oil and top with black pepper. Makes 1 3/4 cups.
