  1. 1 of 2 In a large heavy pot, heat oil over med-high. Add onion and cook 4 min. Add garlic and cook 1 min. Stir in chili powder and cook 30 sec. Add beef and 3/4 tsp salt; cook, stirring to break up, until cooked through, about 5 min.
  2. 2 of 2 Stir in remaining ingredients and 3/4 tsp salt. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 15 min. Serve 1 1/2 cups chili in each of 4 bowls with desired toppings.
