  1. 1 of 3 Stir together flour, baking powder and salt on piece of waxed paper.
  2. 2 of 3 Beat together butter, margarine and sugar in bowl until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla until well-blended. Stir into flour mixture. Stir peppermint candies into dough. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate until well chilled.
  3. 3 of 3 For each cookie, drop rounded teaspoon of dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in 350 degrees F oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate. Let dipped cookies set on waxed paper.
