Triple this recipe so everybody gets at least half an ear apiece.

  • Prepare grill for direct cooking over medium heat (350° to 450°). In a small bowl mash together first 6 ingredients with the back of a fork, then stir to distribute seasonings evenly throughout butter.

  • Brush cooking grates clean. Spread 1 tbsp seasoned butter all over each ear of corn. Grill corn over direct medium heat, with lid closed, until browned in spots and tender, 10 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from grill and spread remaining butter on corn. Tip: Go easy when you first brush the butter on the corn. You don't want to use so much that it drips into the fire and causes flare-ups. Once the corn is on a platter, add as much as you like. For a lime butter variation, stir 5 tbsp melted unsalted butter with 1 tbsp fresh lime juice, then follow these recipe directions. Recipe courtesy of Weber's Greatest Hits by Jamie Purviance
