Old Virginia Wassail

  1. 1 of 3 Combine the apple cider, orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon juice and allspice in large nonreactive saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. 2 of 3 Place wire sieve over large bowl. Carefully strain the apple cider mixture through the sieve into the bowl. Remove allspice and discard.
  3. 3 of 3 Carefully pour the warm wassail into large heatproof pitcher. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and apple rings, if desired. Serve warm. Makes 16 servings (about 3 quarts)
