  1. 1 of 1 In a large bowl, whisk 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour with 1/2 tsp each baking soda, baking powder and ground cinnamon and 1/4 tsp each salt, black pepper, ground nutmeg and ground cloves. Set aside. In another large bowl, beat 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) softened unsalted butter, 2 large eggs and 1 tbsp grated orange zest until smooth, about 3 minutes. Beat in 1 cup honey until combined. On low speed, beat in dry ingredients until just combined. Cover and refrigerate dough overnight. With well-floured hands, form 1 level tsp dough into a ball. On a well-floured work surface, form each ball into a 2 1/2-inch-long log. Bend into a crescent shape and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes, until slightly golden. Remove from oven; cool on baking sheet on a wire rack for 1 minute. Roll warm cookies in confectioners' sugar. Place on a wire rack to cool completely.
