• Heat oven to 475 degrees F. Place pita rounds directly on an upper oven rack and toast 4 minutes. Use tongs to remove and transfer to 1 large or 2 medium-size baking sheets.

  • Meanwhile, coat a nonstick medium-size skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms; cook for 5 minutes. Add ham, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper. Cook 2 minutes; remove from heat.

  • Spread each toasted pita round with 1/4 cup pizza sauce. Top each with 1/3 cup onion-mushroom mixture and 1/4 cup shredded cheese. Return pitas to 475 degree F oven; bake 4 more minutes. Makes 6 servings.
