  1. 1 of 6 Heat oven to 350 degrees . Line a 9-inch glass pie plate with piecrust and place on a baking sheet.
  2. 2 of 6 In a food processor, pulse next 4 ingredients until coarse crumbs form. Reserve 1/2 cup.
  3. 3 of 6 In a large bowl, lightly beat egg. Add molasses and blend well with a wooden spoon.
  4. 4 of 6 In a small bowl, combine boiling water and baking soda; blend into molasses mixture. Add crumb mixture and mix well. Pour into piecrust and top with reserved crumbs.
  5. 5 of 6 Bake 1 hour. Transfer to a rack to cool completely. (Filling will firm as it cools.)
  6. 6 of 6 Cut into 8 slices and serve.
