• Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Zest and juice 2 lemons. Cut ends off 3rd lemon, then quarter and seed. Thinly slice each quarter into triangles. Add to boiling water and cook 2 minutes. With a slotted spoon, remove to a paper-towel-lined plate and blot dry. Add pasta and cook 10 minutes. During last 3 minutes, add broccoli rabe. Drain both, reserving 1 cup pasta water.

  • Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium-high. Stir in lemon pieces, sugar and 1/4 tsp salt. Cook 5 minutes, until starting to brown. Transfer to a plate.

  • Add another 1 tbsp oil to skillet. Stir in shrimp, lemon zest and 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper. Cook 2 minutes, until pink. Stir in pasta, broccoli rabe, lemon pieces, 1/2 cup pasta water, lemon juice, Parmesan and 1 tbsp olive oil. Stir in more pasta water, if desired.
