  1. 1 of 5 Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. 2 of 5 Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; saute until softened, about 8 minutes. Add tomatoes, jalapeno, black pepper and cumin; simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 of 5 Meanwhile, sprinkle tortilla strips with chili powder. Place on baking sheet.
  4. 4 of 5 Toast strips in 400 degree F oven for 10 minutes or until crispy.
  5. 5 of 5 Add broth to skillet; simmer 10 minutes. Ladle into 4 soup bowls. Sprinkle with tortilla strips, cheese and cilantro. Makes 4 servings.
