  1. 1 of 3 Heat the olive oil in a medium-size saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion; saute until softened, 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. 2 of 3 Stir in the sauerkraut, beer and caraway seeds. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. 3 of 3 Pour into a serving bowl and serve with hot dogs. Makes 8 servings (enough for 8 hot dogs).
