America's most-watched cooking competition show, MasterChef, is casting for season 8. Here's how you can go for the gold.

By Mindy Fox

Do your kids' friends come running when you make your famous chocolate chip cookies? Do your relatives insist that you bring your fabulously silky mashed potatoes to every holiday gathering? Or maybe you've got a family heirloom beef bourguignonne recipe that rivals Julia Child's. If any of these scenarios sound familiar, you could be one of the next contestants on Fox's hit cooking competition series, MasterChef.

Open casting calls just started on March 5 and run through Saturday, April 30, 2016. They're taking place in cities across the country, from San Diego, CA, to Washington, DC. Casting is open to talented home cooks of all backgrounds and with a range of cooking styles. To take the first step, simply preregister on the website. Then grab that rabbit's foot (or lucky wooden spoon), and head to a MasterChef casting call in your city. We'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!
