We chatted with actress Jenna Dewan Tatum—best known for her killer dance moves and hunky husband Channing Tatum—about her beauty routine, love of essential oils (all of them!) and of course, favorite song to dance to.

What is your daily beauty routine like?

JDT: If I’m not going to an event, my beauty routine is pretty low-maintenance. I shower, use argan oil and sunscreen and always apply my makeup in the car on the way to wherever I’m going. I haven’t had a chance to do my makeup anywhere else since I had my daughter four years ago. Never enough time! My go-to products are cc cream, concealer, tinted lip balm and eyelash curler.

We know you are a huge fan of essential oils. How did that obsession start and what are your favorites?

JDT: It’s so hard to pick a favorite! I actually have a rolling suitcase at home with tons of them and I change depending on my mood and needs that day. I was introduced to Young Living Essential Oils 16 years ago by a friend and haven’t stopped using them since. The brand believes that beauty starts from the inside out and I couldn’t agree more! Rose, Lavender and Chamomile are a few of my favorites but I am constantly changing it up. I use them on my daughter, too; I apply them in the shape of a smiley face and rub it in to make it a little more fun. Even Channing uses essential oils—when I remind him!

What is your favorite beauty look?

JDT: If I’m going to do makeup, I always love a bold red lip. You’ll rarely see me in any nude lipstick. I also love glitter in every shape and form—luckily with dancing, you get to wear glitter a lot!

Q: What was your biggest beauty “don’t”?

JDT: You name it, I did it! I used sun-in as a teenager and had orange streaks in my hair, outlined my lips with dark lip liner and definitely didn’t fill them in properly and over-plucked my eyebrows.

Q: We have to ask—what is your favorite song to dance to right now?

JDT: Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay. It’s my daughter’s favorite song, or “jam” as she likes to call it.
