The Right Way to Apply Hair Products
Intro hair styles
Having great products in your beauty arsenal is only the first step in creating your perfect hairstyle. Unfortunately, a medicine cabinet bursting with sprays and creams doesn't guarantee struggle-free styling. How you use them is just as important as the products themselves.
Lisa Abbey, founder of the new beauty brand Flygirl, filled us in on the best ways to use our favorite hair products.
This lightweight cream primes your hair for all the styling products that follow. Comb through evenly from root to tip for tangle-free hair.
Bump up the volume at your roots by applying a volumizing mousse, spray or powder only near the scalp.
Styling Creams and Texturizers
To minimize greasy strands, keep styling creams and texturizers just on the ends of your hair.
When applying hair serums, avoid the root area and comb through from mid-shaft to ends. One exception: You can use sparingly at the hairline, where hair is often frizziest.
Spray this cleanser at the roots to eliminate oils and extend your blowout while adding volume. Alternatively, you can mist all over to add more texture.
