Save the bees, save the world.

Imagine a world without bees. Now imagine a world without lip balm. That’s the stuff of nightmares! It’s enough to make you want to stock up on your favorite balm and help save the bees.

Burt’s Bees has come up with a way for you to do both—at the same time. This week the brand releases three limited-edition “_urt’s _ees” balms to raise awareness of the pollinators' decline. The balms feature unique packaging (you’ll notice one important letter is missing) and come in three flavors that exist thanks to the help of those all-important insects: Pink Grapefruit, Wild Cherry and Coconut & Pear.

In fact, bees are responsible for the pollination of one-third of all the food that you eat, making them crucial to both human and environmental health. And one of the most effective ways to help bees survive is by ensuring they have a diverse and nutritious food supply.

That’s why with each purchase of a “_urt’s _ees” lip balm, the Burt’s Bees Greater Good Foundation (in collaboration with partnering organizations) will plant 1,000 bee-sustaining wildflower seeds. During this campaign as many as one billion wildflower seeds could be planted, providing bees with habitat that is critical to their survival.

Look for the lip balms starting March 8th at select natural, grocery, drug, and mass retailers, and on Plus, through June 30th, tweet without the letter b and hashtag #BringBackTheBees and Burt’s Bees will plant 1,000 wildflower seeds.
