Perhaps by now you've heard about Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old Texas robotics whiz who innocently brought his DIY clock to school and ended up in police custody after staff at MacArthur High School told cops the homemade timekeeper looked like a bomb. Amid allegations of extreme overreaction by the teachers—combined with allegations of anti-Muslim bias—the Internet went wild supporting the techie Lone Star State teen. Even President Obama jumped into the fray on social media, tweeting an invite to Washington with the words, "Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great." The hashtag #IStandwithAhmed has been trending on Twitter all day.
